libjs-select2.js software package provides jQuery based replacement for select boxes, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libjs-select2.js
libjs-select2.js is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libjs-select2.js package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libjs-select2.js *
You will get with libjs-select2.js package name, version, architecture and description in a table
